Docs2Digital have the ability to scan 5,000 B&W drawings onto an single CD for example. That’s a lot of space saving and once scanned allows immediate access to your drawings locally or through cloud services. We scan any large format paperwork such as architectural drawings, blueprints, engineering plans even sketches to digital format, such as tiff, pdf, jpg. We also use enhancement software, therefore any creases or deterioration of the document may mean that the drawing looks better than the original by the end of the process! Let us vectorise them too once scanned into DXF format so it can be viewed as lines in AutoCad.

Using large format through pass scanners, drawings can be scanned on a 1-1 basis at 200dpi (or above) for nearly all the work we carry out to keep file sizes down. At times though we do scan upto 600dpi should the need arise, for enhanced clarity and accuracy should a drawing need to be reprinted at a later stage. We have been requested to scan many types of drawings from hand drawn sketches, foam backed laminated pictures even a picture half an inch thick. We can also cater for delicate items too by placing them between two sheets of perspex before scanning. 

Our core scanning, is the bulk scanning of architectural drawings currently taking up huge amounts of space in draws or rolled up on shelves. The main requests we have are to scan the drawings to pdf format, this is so a customer can retain a record of the drawing for future reference, but without the need to retain the physical drawing itself.
